afterwave is an independent, pre-launch research lab. we are small and deliberately so. we hire people who would rather report a calibrated measurement than a confident guess — and who want to build the methods, not just apply them.
how we work
a handful of researchers and engineers, no layers. you own a question end to end — from the data and the model to the write-up that ships on the research page.
methods, notes, datasets, and failures go on the public record. if it cannot be calibrated and reproduced, it does not ship — and we say where it breaks down.
we are distributed and asynchronous. decisions live in documents, not meetings. clear writing is the core competency — it is how we think, not just how we report.
